Swisscom and LG launch interactive TV service for hotels

Swisscom’s hospitality division and LG Electronics have launched a new all-in-one hospitality solution called ConnectedHotel TV.

The service offers HDTV, video-on-demand and internet connectivity via one converged network and without the need for set-top boxes. Swisscom said hotels with Coax, Ethernet or telephone cable will be able to take advantage of interactive services. LG Electronics’ TV screens support hardware-processed Flash technology and can stream high-definition content from various sources, including DTT, IPTV and the open internet. The LG ConnectedHotel TV service also comes with an embedded IP switch enabling wired and wireless internet connectivity directly through the TV set.
