CyBC chooses Net Insight for HD contribution via DTT

Public broadcaster Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC) has chosen Net Insight’s Nimbra platform for the launch of HD services on the new Cypriot digital-terrestrial platform.

The DTT network is scheduled to launch by the end of this year, and will also be used to carry radio services and to deliver HD contribution services in a JPEG-2000 format from regional studios to a central facility in Nicosia. The transport network covers 11 main transmitter sites and four reporter sites. The Nimbra 680 platform will be the core node, located in Nicosia, with Nimbra 300 switches deployed at the transmitter and audio site nodes.
