HD popularity growing in Finland

Nearly half of Finnish homes have a HD television set and 35% of the population has watched a high-definition programme.

According to a survey carried out by DNA, which acquired Finnish cable operator Welho from Sanoma earlier this year, 67% of 15-19 year-olds had watched a HD programme, and two-fifths of Finns believe HDTV will become widespread either rapidly or very rapidly. Films and sports are proving to be the most popular HD content in Finland, with 89% of 15-19 year-olds saying they would like to watch films in high definition.
