Sony kicks off UK 3D marketing push

Sony has kicked off a major marketing push of 3D consumer electronics and associated content in the UK. The company has announced that it has begun selling a full range of 3D TVs, Blu-ray players, home cinema systems and PlayStation 3 consoles in UK stores today, along with content including 3D games.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has launched four 3D stereoscopic games through the PlayStation Network – WipEout HD, SuperStardust HD, PAIN and MotorStorm Pacific Rift Demo, while Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will sell the 3D Blu-ray movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs from June 14, following an initial period of bundling the title with selected Sony 3D products. Further movie and games titles will follow soon.

Sony and FIFA are filming 25 matches from the World Cup in 3D.
