Pace delivers second generation DVRs to Multichoice

Set-top vendor has been selected to provide new HD DVRs to African pay-TV service Multichoice.

The second-generation device incorporates Open TV Core 2.1 middleware and DVR software together with content security from Irdeto. The TDS865 comes with H.264 compression and XtraView functionality, allowing the addition of further set-top boxes so viewers can access MultiChoice content around the house. The boxes also feature an Ethernet connection.

The DVR is already available in South Africa for ZAR1999 (€214) and will roll out to other African countries.
