Euro1080 forms alliance for hybrid, connected TV

Alfacam-backed HD channel provider Euro1080 has teamed up with Luxembourg-based EuproMedia, which operates combined digital TV and internet platform em24 to offer converged media platforms in Dutch, French and German, targeting Germany and the Benelux countries as well as France via satellite, cable, IPTV and internet streaming.

The pair will initially collaborate in the production and syndication of content and the development of hybrid and transaction-based applications. The two companies will later create a more formal strategic and organisational alliance.

The companies will operate integrated TV and internet platforms jointly, and will develop modules for corporate TV, e-business and digital signage applications. Euro1080 and Eupromedia also plan to develop specific software for global short codes for SMS applications.
