Canal Plus debuts on Spanish cable

Spanish pay-TV service Canal Plus is to be made available via cable operator TeleCable after it signed a deal with DTH operator Sogecable, which owns the premium channels.

Canal Plus, which launched 20 years ago, will be available on the cable platform, which operates in the Asturias region, from tomorrow, giving TeleCable customers the chance to watch World Cup matches. So far, Canal Plus has only been available via Sogecable’s Digital Plus DTH service.

The premium bouquet of channels will be available for free on TeleCable until the end of August. From September 1, it will cost €9 for triple-play customers, €12 for double-play customers and €15 to those who only take a TV package. Thematic channel Fishing TV will also be available for €4.95.
