Moblikom Austria to scrap mobile TV

Mobilkom Austria, the Telekom Austria-owned mobile operator, is to scrap its mobile TV service at the end of the year as a result of poor take up, according to reports.

The company is set to end its digital video broadcasting – handheld (DVB-H) service when its contract with network operator Media Broadcast is up at the end of 2010. It attributes poor take up to the low number of compatible handsets available.
