Portugal Telecom moves forward with online TV plans

Portugal Telecom has chosen Envivio to supply the delivery platform for its new TV services for PCs.

The service, Meo @ PC, will use Envivio’s 4Caster C4 encoders to deliver content using the Microsoft Smooth Streaming and Silverlight technologies, secured by PlayReady DRM.

After an initial trial period, Portugal Telecom plans to deploy the service, which will replicate its existing IPTV service, throughout Portugal.
