YouTube claims two billion daily views

Five years after it launched, YouTube now gets over two billion views daily. That figure is up from one billion views that the video sharing website claimed in October 2009. 

In a blog post celebrating its fifth anniversary, YouTube said that the number of daily views is almost double the number of people who watch the three main US prime time TV stations. “What started as a site for bedroom vloggers and viral videos has evolved into a global platform that supports HD and 3D, [and] broadcasts entire sports seasons live to 200-plus countries,” the company said.

The most popular video on YouTube, Lady GaGa’s music video for Bad Romance, has been viewed over 185 million times.
