SeaChange launches t-commerce platform

Video technology provider SeaChange International has launched Watch & Buy, a new t-commerce platform designed to enable TV providers to sell DVDs and related merchandise on the basis of their existing video-on-demand platforms.

Watch & Buy includes a set-top application, user interface customisation, and back-end order fulfillment. A DVD symbol appearing next to select titles in an operator’s VOD library alerts subscribers to the fact that the movie is also available for purchase as a DVD, according to SeaChange. When selecting such titles, subscribers will have the option to order the movie as a VOD session as well as receive a DVD copy via postal mail.
