Canal Overseas launches HD sports channel to islands

French pay-TV platform and channel operator Canal Plus is launching the high definition version of its Canal Plus Sport channel in Mauritius and its neighbouring island Réunion. The islands, situated in the Indian Ocean, have a combined population of about 2.1 million. The channel is being launched by Canal Overseas, the Canal Plus unit responsible for international and French-speaking countries.
