TelefÃ³nica, which has pay-TV operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Peru, Spain and Venezuela, had a pay-TV customer base of 2.6 million at the end of March, up 9.3% year-on-year.
In Spain, the telco added 30,000 new pay-TV customers during the first quarter, giving it a subscriber base of 733,000, up 21.2% year-on-year. Double- and triple-play packages accounted for 89% of connections by the end of March. First quarter revenue totalled Â4,633m, down 3.9% on a comparable basis.
In the Czech Republic, TelefÃ³nica increased its O2 TV subscriber base by 7.8% to reach 138,000 at the end of March.
