Prisa profit up revenues down

Spanish media company Prisa reported first quarter results today showing an increase in year-on-year net profit but a decline in revenues. Profit was €35.5m compared with €2.9m in the same period last year.

The company reported first quarter revenues of €764.9 million compared with €862.4m a year earlier. The loss of exclusive soccer rights at its part-owned Digital Plus pay-TV platform impacted the revenues figure, but advertising revenue increased 4.6%.
