Sky Deutschland sets ambitious target for year

German satellite pay TV operator Sky Deutschland is targeting a rise of 400,000 subscribers in the next twelve months as it aims to reach profitability. However, the News Corp-backed pay broadcaster lost 1,000 subscribers in the latest financial quarter.

Recently installed chief executive Brian Sullivan told local investors that it was looking to grow its subs base from 2.47 million to 2.8 million in the next twelve months. The operator posted a steeper loss than last year with a net loss growing 21.2% from €80 million to €97 million.
