BT Vision revamps VOD service, Orange looks again at UK TV

BT Vision, the IPTV service operated by UK telco BT, has revamped its on-demand movie service, doubling the number of titles available.

The new look BT Vision Film Club will have 14 new titles a week and 60 titles in all. The service will operate alongside a dedicated offering from Warner Bros, WarnerFilms, which offers new and library titles from the Hollywood studio. The Film Club service costs BT Vision customers £6.99 (€8.08) per month. WarnerFilms is £4.99 a month as is PictureBox, which is operated by Universal Pictures.

Separately, telco Orange is reportedly revisiting plans to  launch a TV service in the UK.

The France Telecom-owned company was originally looking to roll out in the UK several years ago, but put the plans on ice. Now Orange has access to the network that UK incumbent telco BT uses for its BT Vision service and, according to UK press, the launch of a TV service is “firmly on the agenda”.
