Deutsche Telekom to target housing associations

Deutsche Telekom plans to target the rented housing market currently dominated by the cable industry in Germany, Christian Ilek, head of marketing for T-Home, told the ANGA Cable congress yesterday.

Ilek said Deutsche Telekom was planning to supply a “pure TV service” for rental housing associations. “Housing associations purely want a TV signal – triple-play is not required,” said Ilek. “We want to compete with cable.” He said that Deutsche Telekom’s objective was to offer the new service sometime next year, although it had not made a binding commitment.
