Virgin Media racks up 200 million VOD views in three months

UK cable operator Virgin Media recorded over 200 million VOD views in the first three months of the year.

Virgin said Channel 4’s on-demand service 4oD scored a record-breaking three months with nearly 19 million views. March was the service’s best-ever month with nearly eight million views, with Glee, Shameless and Skins proving particularly popular. BBC iPlayer saw over 50 million views on Virgin’s cable service during the first quarter.

Virgin Media said over 2.6 million movies were watched on demand during the first three months of the year, including The Hurt Locker, Aliens In The Attic and Inglorious Basterds.
