Orange increases digital and premium TV numbers

France Télécom/Orange’s domestic digital TV base grew by 34% year-on-year to reach 2.894 million as of March 31. The figure represented growth of 133,000 from the end of December.

The premium Orange Sports and Orange Cinema series channels had a total of 713,000 subscribers at the end of the quarter, up from 363,000 a year earlier. Total pay-TV customers numbered 1.164 million, up from 1.514 million in December. Video-on-demand requests numbered 2.7 million for the quarter, up 53% year-on-year.

Orange’s Polish digital TV customer base grew to 417,000 at the end of the first quarter, up from 372,000 in December and 198,000 in March 2009.
