MPEGIF and ISMA to merge

The MPEG Industry Forum and the Internet Streaming Media Alliance (ISMA) have agreed to merge.

As a result of the merger, MPEGIF members will become ISMA members, while the MPEGIF as a body will continue within the shell of ISMA’s California-based non-profit organisation and the MPEGIF’s current Swiss association will be dissolved.

ISMA, founded in 2000, was focused on providing open standards-based technical specifications for the delivery of rich media over IP.
