BBC pulls channels from Zattoo online service

The BBC has withdrawn its channels from Switzerland-based online TV portal Zattoo.

Zattoo removed the BBC’s channels from its service after the corporation requested that they did so, and has provided a link to the BBC iPlayer service instead, according to reports.

Zattoo, unlike the BBC’s free online service, inserts advertising in its streams. Fellow UK broadcasters Channel 4 and Five are also reported to be monitoring Zattoo and reviewing their options.
