World Cup effect to boost Pace sales

Set-top vendor Pace has announced that the World Cup tournament, which will take place in June, will lead to a sales boost this year.

Pace predicts that operators pushing HD services ahead of the tournament will lead to sales for the first six months of 2010 outstripping the second half, although trading for the overall year will be in line with expectations, it added. “We entered 2010 in a strong operating and financial position with our pay-TV markets continuing to be positive and with good demand for the Group’s products.  For the full year we expect a combination of solid volume growth and a modestly lower ASP resulting from product mix, to lead to mid single digit revenue growth. Gross margins are expected to increase, with a focus on operating cost and efficiency generating further improvements in operating margin,” the company said in an interim management statement ahead of today’s AGM.
