TA reaches one million broadband subs

Telekom Austria has announced that it has signed its one-millionth fix net broadband customer. The telco also said that total data volume on the network almost doubled in the past year, recording daily peak rates of up to 55Gb. “This surge in data traffic is being attributed to changing usage patterns as well as the growing popularity of web2.0 applications, such as YouTube and Facebook,” the company said in a statement.
