Video-sharing website YouTube will offer full-length programmes from French media company Lagardere after the two parties signed a deal.
The three-year revenue-sharing deal aims to improve promotion and revenue from professional content on an international scale. Unlike similar deals signed between YouTube and broadcasters Channel 4 and Five, which are for the UK only, the Lagardere partnership allows content to be seen internationally.
Lagardere will upload over 315 hours of programmes and 7,000 clips by this summer, with some of its brands, including Elle and Womens Day, having dedicated channels.
