Pan regional pay-TV operator Viasat Broadcasting is launching a new factual channel Viasat Nature East in 25 new territories following its success in Scandinavia.
The channel, which is an international version of its Nordic Viasat Nature network, will launch on Modern Times Group-owned pay-TV services across central and eastern Europe from May, as well as Russian Raduga TV, in which MTG recently acquired a 50% stake, and then it will be made available to third party cable and satellite providers.
The network, which has been available to viewers in Norway since 1998 and the rest of Scandinavia since 2002, airs wildlife and nature series from distributors including BBC Worldwide, ITV Global and ORF.
