Verimatrix and Widevine reach settlement

Software-based conditional-access providers Verimatrix and Widevine have reached a settlement of their long-running patent dispute.

Widevine filed a suit in August 2007 alleging that Verimatrix’s VCAS products infringed two of Widevine’s patents. Under the terms of the agreements, Widevine granted Verimatrix a licence to the two asserted Widevine patents and the foreign counterparts. Verimatrix said it has made no admission as to infringement of the patents.
