FIC to launch bouquet of channels in South Africa

Fox International Channels is to launch its bouquet of channels in South Africa after inking a carriage deal with satellite pay-TV operator ODM South Africa.

The News Corp-owned international channel operator will launch Fox Entertainment, FX, Fox Retro, Baby TV and Fuel on the service from May 1 2010. This comes after the company hired Thandi Davids as director of broadcast and sales, FIC Africa. Davids, who will report to Fox International Channels UK MD Jason Thorp, will be in charge of rolling out the Fox and Nat Geo channel brands across South Africa and sub Saharan Africa.
