France makes digital progress
According to a study by French media regulator the CSA and Frances digital TV reception equipment observatory, 78.4% of households had digital TV reception equipment installed at the end of the second half of 2009, via digital-terrestrial, satellite, ADSL or cable.
About 47.7% of homes were completely digitised, while 12.9% had only received analogue terrestrial TV, down 9.5% year-on-year.
Of TV homes, 48.3% had chosen digital-terrestrial TV as their mode of digital reception, with penetration being particularly strong in regions scheduled to switch off their analogue signal this summer.
