Numericable extends TNT HD service to Alsace
French cable operator Numericable has announced the launch of its TNT HD digital-terrestrial service in Alsace.
Numericable is participating in the deployment of digital-terrestrial in France by carrying the 18 free digital-terrestrial channels, including the HD channels in the offer, to all the homes in to which it provides services via its cable network using DVB-T technology. The operator is investing 15m over three years in bringing the terrestrial channels to all the homes connected in line with regulator the CSAÂs switchover plan. Numericable is marketing the TNT service as a migration path from analogue, with the possibility to use cable to distribute the signal to other TVs in the house and to upgrade to triple-play services.
Separately, Numericable has announced that it has added MTV-owned kids channel Nick Junior to its line-up.
