Numericable extends TNT HD service to Alsace

French cable operator Numericable has announced the launch of its TNT HD digital-terrestrial service in Alsace.

Numericable is participating in the deployment of digital-terrestrial in France by carrying the 18 free digital-terrestrial channels, including the HD channels in the offer, to all the homes in to which it provides services via its cable network using DVB-T technology. The operator is investing €15m over three years in bringing the terrestrial channels to all the homes connected in line with regulator the CSA’s switchover plan. Numericable is marketing the TNT service as a migration path from analogue, with the possibility to use cable to distribute the signal to other TVs in the house and to upgrade to triple-play services.

Separately, Numericable has announced that it has added MTV-owned kids channel Nick Junior to its line-up.
