ITV bags IPL rights

ITV has acquired the rights to the Indian Premier League, bringing free-to-air live cricket back to the UK.

The commercial broadcaster will air 59 of the 60 matches in this year’s IPL Twenty20 tournament on ITV4. The IPL has been absent from UK TV since sport broadcaster Setanta’s British arm collapsed last year.
The tournament starts on March 12th.
