Portugal Telcoms pay-TV service Meo nearly doubled its subscriber base last year, reaching a total of 581,000 at the end of December, up 89.2% year-on-year.
Over 50% of Meo subscribers have paid for video-on-demand content to-date, up 11% on 2008, consuming on average 2.5 movies per month. Retail revenues stood at Â244m for the fourth quarter, a 3.9% increase year-on-year.
The telco added 152,000 ADSL subs during the year, giving it a total of 862,000 at the end of December.
Operating revenue from Portugal TelecomÂs wireline business reached Â1.95bn for the full year, contributing to total revenue of Â6.8bn for the year. EBITDA was Â2.5bn.
