Swisscom strikes deal for fibre in Lucerne

Swisscom has struck an agreement with Lucerne utility company EWL Energie Wasser Luzern.

Together the two companies will invest a total of about CHF90m (€61.5m) in laying four fibres per household across the city – one for Swisscom and the others for EWL.

According to Swisscom, 90% of the city’s residents should have a fibre connection by 2014.
