FTTH Council Europe unveils ranking

The FTTH Council Europe has revealed the latest league table of leading European fibre-to-the-home countries at its 2010 conference in Lisbon.

Although Sweden, Norway and Slovenia have maintained their places in the top five, according to the FTTH Council’s figures, they have been overtaken by Lithuania, which made a jump to the number one position with 18% FTTH penetration.   All four countries now have penetration rates greater than 10%.

France and Portugal broke into the top 15 for the first time. Sweden, Italy, France, Lithuania and Norway had subscriber bases over 200,000, according to the Council’s figures.
