Zon moves forward with Angola plan

Portuguese pay-TV provider Zon Multimédia last week secured a preliminary agreement to launch a new pay-TV service for Angola.

The service, branded as Zap, will be 30% owned by Zon and 70% by Isabel dos Santos, the businesswoman daughter of the Angolan president. Zap, to be broadcast via the Eutelsat W7 satellite, will include a Max package of about 50 channels and a Premium package comprising 80 channels.
