Italian free-to-air satellite TV platform TivùSat says it has exceeded its target of 150,000 active users.
The operator, backed by public broadcaster Rai and commercial player Mediaset, says that between 1,300 and 1,500 cards a day are being activated by users, with a total of 790,000 cards to date being ordered by set-top and TV manufacturers.
TivùSat currently offers over 40 digital channels. Recent additions include motorport channel Nuvolari, music service Deejay TV, news channels Canal 24 Horas and Al Jazeera and general entertainment and information channel TV5 Monde.
