Canal Plus riding the 3D Wave

Studiocanal, the distribution company owned by French pay-TV group Canal Plus, has joined forces with 3D producer and distributor nWave.

The two will co-develop, finance and distribute nWave’s movies in France, Germany and the UK and Canal Plus will have an equity stake in those projects.

Canal Plus did not specify whether the 3D content will appear on its pay-TV service. The Vivendi-owned company is preparing to launch a dedicated 3D channel. The channel does not have a launch date but will roll out before the end of the year, according to Canal Plus.
