Mediaset wins YouTube appeal

Italian broadcaster Mediaset has claimed victory in the latest court hearing against YouTube showing clips from shows, including Italy’s version of Big Brother, Grande Fratello, on its website.

The court of Rome rejected an appeal made by YouTube and confirmed the ruling issued on December 16 that ordered the video sharing website to remove from its servers all illegally uploaded material. Mediaset began legal proceedings against YouTube in July 2008.
