UK public broadcaster the BBC and transmission company Arqiva have been given the go-ahead to market spare DTT capacity in the UK.
Ahead of switchover in 2012, spare capacity has become available on one of the six UK DTT multiplexes, multiplex B, in the UK. The bandwidth is enough for two TV channels. Additional capacity will become available on another two multiplexes, multiplex C and D, after switchover. Communications regulator Ofcom has given its approval for the sale.
