Italian transmission services provider Telespazio has renewed its contract with satellite operator Eutelsat for occasional use capacity for public broadcaster RAI.
Telespazio occupies one 72MHz transponder on each of the Atlantic Bird 1 and W3Asatelites for news, sports and outside broadcast transmissions from RAI. According to Eutelsat, the permanent availability of the capacity gives the Italian public broadcaster the flexibility to deliver premium events in HD that require 42Mbps carriers.
