EutelsatÂs W2 satellite suffered a technical anomaly yesterday evening, the company has confirmed.
The satellite, located at 16° East, was launched in October 1998. Seven pay-TV platforms and almost 400 TV channels broadcast from this orbital location.
Eutelsat said the incident was under full investigation in collaboration with manufacturer Thales Alenia Space and that action has been taken to prepare to offer alternative capacity to all customers affected by the anomaly, and that services are progressively being restored.
