Hungary grows digital TV subs base

Hungary’s top 14 pay-TV operators ended November 2009 with a total of 2,472,000 subs, 9,000 less than the previous month, according to the National Telecommunications Office.

Digital TV subs were up 9,000 on October to 1.118 million, representing 45.2% of the total base, up from 44.7%. The number of analogue subs decreased by 18,000 to 1.354 million.

Cable operator UPC had the largest pay-TV share at 32.1%, followed by Digi with 23.9% and Magyar Telekom with 20.8%.
