German cable operator PrimaCom has launched HD services, initially to about 450,000 households.
PrimaCom is initially airing public broadcasters ARD and ZDFs HD services, to be followed by commercial channels by the end of February. Early highlights include the Winter Olympics from Vancouver.
In addition to ARD HD and ZDF HD, PrimaCom will offer Arte HD and EinsFestival HD, as well as HD pay-TV channels from Sky Deutschland. ProSiebenSat.1 and RTLÂs channels will be added by the end of February.
