Zappia to replace Sullivan at BSkyB

Sky Italia exec Andrea Zappia is to replace Brian Sullivan as BSkyB’s managing director, customer group.

Zappia will join the UK pay-TV operator on February 1, replacing Sullivan who was recently appointed deputy CEO of Sky Deutschland, ahead of succeeding Mark Williams as CEO in April. In his new role Zappia will lead Sky’s sales, marketing and customer operations teams, with responsibility for customer acquisition and retention across the company’s range of entertainment and communications products.

At Sky Italia, Zappia is currently vice-president, sports channels. Between 2003 and 2007, he was vice-president, marketing, promotion and business development at the Italian pay-TV operator, with responsibilities including customer acquisition, retention and brand marketing.
