The number of internet video devices shipped is expected to grow by 78% from 2009-10, driven by sales of connected TVs and Blu-ray players, according to a new report by IMS Research.
The report, Market Opportunities for Internet Video to the TV 2010, predicts that global households with the ability to view internet video on the TV will exceed 473 million by 2015, driven by developments including the recent release of the Blu-ray 3D specification. IMS Research expects Blu-ray shipments to exceed 28 million devices in 2011.
