Oregan launches TV application store

Interactive technology company Oregan has launched Onyx Widgetry, a new applications store for connected TVs and hybrid set-top boxes. A beta version of the store is being shown at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The store is designed to enable consumers to choose and download services and applications on their TVs. Downloaded applications can be used as entry points to paid content. Oregan said it was working with TV manufacturers and planned to offer the store to consumers in the UK in March 2010, with Europe, the US and Latin America to follow.
