UK pay-TV operator BSkyB, which will launch a 3D service this year, has confirmed its compatibility with a range of 3D ready TVs to be launched in the UK and Ireland.
The operator said its forthcoming 3D TV service will be compatible with TV sets due to be released by manufacturers LG, Panasonic, Samsung and Sony.
SkyÂs existing Sky Plus HD set-tops, which are in 1.6 million UK and Irish homes, are already equipped to receive 3D TV. The operator said the new 3D ready TVs will enable Sky Plus HD customers to watch both high definition and 3D services from the same TV set. Â
