UPC Poland eyes Aster

Polish cabler UPC is interested in acquiring its private equity-owned counterpart Aster, according to local press. Reports cite UPC chairman Simon Boyd as saying the company would be interested in buying Aster next year in a deal likely to be worth about PLN1.6bn (€383m). Aster is owned by private equity company Mid Europa Partners.
