Hollywood studio MGM has launched its first branded channel in the UK on pay-TV platform BSkyB.
MGM HD is a 50/50 joint venture between the studio and Sky. The 24-hour channel features HD re-mastered movies from the MGM library, including The Pink Panther series, Woody Allen features including Annie Hall and Manhattan along with The Apartment, The Russia House and Moonstruck.
MGM HD is the 37th HD channel to launch on Sky and is available to subscribers of the Dual Movies and HD packages. The channel is also available on an a la carte basis for £5 (5.50) per month.Â
The MGM channel is now available in over 130 countries, broadcasting in nearly two dozen languages. MGM HD recently launched in the US, Latin America, Poland and Israel.
