ESPN UK picks up rugby rights

ESPN has acquired UK rights to the top English rugby championship.

It has taken Guinness Premiership rights for three years, starting next year. The deal gives ESPN rights to 43 games per season including excusive coverage of the final and one of the two semi-final games. Disney-backed ESPN has also taken digital rights, allowing it to show highlights on its ESPNscrum.com website.
