Astra signs contribution agreement with Neterra

Satellite operator SES Astra has signed an agreement with telco Neterra to offer contribution services to broadcasters in Bulgaria and the wider Balkan region.

Neterra will use capacity on Astra’s 31.5° East orbital position so broadcasters can deliver content to cable and terrestrial head-ends in the region. The services will be uplinked from Neterra’s teleport in Sofia and include multiplexing, encoding and encryption of the signal. The first broadcaster to use the service is the Bulgarian channel TV 7.
